Portions of north central and northwest North Carolina, including the following counties, in north central North Carolina, Stokes and Surry. In northwest North Carolina, Wilkes and Yadkin. * WHEN... Until 1230 AM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 916 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... East Prong Little Yadkin River, Cranberry Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Chinquapin Creek, Arnold Branch, Davenport Creek, Danbury Creek, Dobbins Creek, Cobb Creek and Ararat River. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Elkin...
