Portions of North Carolina, including the following counties, Alleghany NC and Surry and southwest Virginia, including the following county, Grayson. * WHEN... Until 1045 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 901 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Glade Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Brush Creek, Chestnut Creek, Fisher River, Big Pine Creek, Christian Creek, Elk Creek, Glady Fork and Beaver Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sparta...
