The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a * Flood Warning for the Elk River below Queen Shoals.

* Until Tuesday morning.

* At 5:00 AM EST Monday the stage was 17.8 feet.

* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.

* Moderate flooding is forecast.

* Forecast...
The river will rise above flood stage this morning to 21.0 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight to 9.1 feet and begin rising again early Thursday morning.
It will rise to 10.9 feet Friday morning. It will then fall again and remain below flood stage.

* Impact...
At 20.0 feet, Between 20 and 23 feet, basements in Clendenin businesses are flooded. State Route 4 floods above and below Clendenin and Queen Shoals. Abandoned church opposite side of the river from the gaugehouse starts to flood. A dip in Valley View Drive starts to flood.
