At 1032 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of showers and thunderstorms over Rowan, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Iredell, Catawba, Lincoln, and Gaston Counties. These showers will continue over the next hour with lightning and periods of heavy rain.
