Central Halifax County in south central Virginia... * Until 1245 AM EDT Thursday. * At 634 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and locally 3 inches of rain have fallen across moist ground from recent heavy rainfall. Rain is falling at rates of 3 inches per hour with these storms. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar.
