At 1224 AM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms located along a line extending from 10 miles southeast of Bristol Va to Linville Falls. Movement was east at 30 mph.
Expect occasional cloud to ground lightning and heavy rains with these storms. Rain may be heavy enough to cause ponding on roads.
Wind gusts up to 30 mph are also possible with these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Boone...
Jefferson...
West Jefferson...
Blowing Rock...
and Beech Mountain.
