At 618 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Wilkes County, North Carolina, moving northeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph, pea size hail, and heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause poor drainage flooding.
This area of heavy rain and thunderstorms will move across Wilkes, Yadkin, Allegheny, Surry, eastern Grayson and Carroll counties between now and 800 AM EDT.
