At 1215 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Smithfield to near Lillington to 8 miles southeast of Sanford. Movement was southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Smithfield, Lillington, Dunn, Benson, Godwin, Erwin, Coats, Four Oaks, Newton Grove, and Wade.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 93 and 65.
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 320 and 347.
