The Flood Warning continues for the Potomac River at Shepherdstown.

* Until late tonight.

* At 7:30 PM EST Tuesday the stage was 15.6 feet, or 0.6 feet above flood stage.

* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring.

* Recent Activity...
The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:30 PM EST Tuesday was 16.2 feet.

* Forecast...
The river is expected to fall below flood stage late this evening and continue falling to 7.2 feet Friday evening.

* Impact...
At 15.0 feet, River Road is completely flooded in low spots between Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry. Significant portions of the C&O Canal towpath are flooded between McMahons Mill and Dam Number Four.

* Impact...
At 16.0 feet, Water goes over the banks of the Potomac near the mouth of the Opequon River.

* Flood History...
This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.5 feet on 03/07/1979.
