Flood Watch issued August 2 at 11:51PM EDT until August 3 at 12:00AM EDT by NWS Charleston WV
The Flood Watch will expire for portions of central, northeast, northern, southeast, and southern West Virginia, including the following counties, in central West Virginia, Braxton, Calhoun, Clay, Gilmer, Jackson WV, Roane and Taylor. In northeast West Virginia, Northwest Pocahontas, Northwest Randolph, Northwest Webster, Southeast Pocahontas, Southeast Randolph and Southeast Webster. In northern West Virginia, Barbour, Doddridge, Harrison, Lewis, Pleasants, Ritchie, Tyler, Upshur, Wirt and Wood. In southeast West Virginia, Northwest Fayette, Northwest Nicholas, Northwest Raleigh, Southeast Fayette, Southeast Nicholas and Southeast Raleigh. In southern West Virginia, Boone, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Putnam and Wyoming.
The threat for additional heavy rain has ended across the area.
Therefore, the Flood Watch will expire at midnight EDT tonight.
Localized high water continues across portions of the southern coalfields and mountains from prior heavy rain this evening. Please continue to heed any remaining road closures.
