At 850 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms 8 miles northwest of Ansonville, or 10 miles south of Albemarle, moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph, penny size hail and heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Troy, Biscoe, Norwood, Mount Gilead, Star, Candor, Norman, Uwharrie Haven, Pekin, and Lake Tillery.
This includes Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 36 and 54.
