* Until 530 AM EDT Sunday.

* At 1126 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms have produced heavy rain in eastern Surry County, western Stokes County, and southwest Patrick County. Between 4 and locally 7 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. The heaviest rainfall has occurred in the Ararat River basin, which is now quickly rising near the town of Mt. Airy.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
