At 1013 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Kingwood, Parsons, Rowlesburg, Newburg, Reedsville, Masontown, Albright, Tunnelton, Hannahsville, Israel, Fellowsville, Pifer Moutain, Aurora, Saint George, Lead Mine, Gladesville and Davisville.
Weather service radar indicates the heaviest rain has moved out of the area, however runoff from the earlier heavy rain that occurred could still cause flash flooding.
