At 645 AM EDT, radar indicated that strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Gratton to 8 miles northwest of Whitetop. Movement was east at 30 mph.
Pea size hail is possible with these storms, along with brief very heavy rainfall and occasional cloud-to-ground lightning.

Interstate 81 from Chilhowie to Rural Retreat, and Bluefield.
