Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

Portions of central, northwest, and western Virginia, including the following counties, in central Virginia, Greene. In northwest Virginia, Madison and Page. In western Virginia, Rockingham.

* WHEN...
Until 730 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 627 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area.
