A shortwave clipper system will dive down into the area later today and bring additional moisture into northeast TN, southwest VA and the far eastern TN mountains. Snowfall accumulations will generally be less than 1 inch below 2000 feet. Accumulations from 1 to 2 inches are possible across the higher elevations with localized amounts up to 3 inches. Travel may become hazardous during the overnight hours through late morning across areas that receive accumulating snowfall.
