At 306 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 5 miles northeast of Newton to 3 miles south of Hickory. Movement was east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Hickory, Statesville, Newton, Lincolnton, St. Stephens, Conover, Longview, Bethlehem, Maiden and Icard.
