Surface observations across portions of the Piedmont indicate that locally dense fog has developed this morning, limiting visibilities for some locations to less than one quarter mile.
This fog is expected to persist through 9 am before visibilities improve with daytime heating. Motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution when encountering fog by driving at a slower speed and maintaining extra separation distance with surrounding vehicles.
