A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Lee, Moore, Orange and Person. * WHEN... Until 1230 AM EDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS... Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1231 PM EDT, many locations in the warned area remain inundated from Sunday's rainfall. Between 5 and 11 inches of rain fell with the remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal and while no significant rainfall is expected today, it will take several hours before water begins to recede. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Durham, Chapel Hill, Burlington, Sanford, Graham, Southern Pines, Roxboro, Hillsborough, Pittsboro, Carthage, Siler City, Carrboro, Pinehurst, Mebane, Aberdeen, Goldston, Elon, Rougemont, Concord and Gibsonville. - Areas along the Eno River will see continued flooding, as will areas near Hyco Lake. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood ![]() |
