Flooding caused by excessive rainfall from showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and then again during the past hour is expected.

* WHERE...
A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following county, Wise.

* WHEN...
Until 945 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 756 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to showers and thunderstorms during the past hour. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen earlier this afternoon and then another 0.5 inch or more since 7 PM EDT.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible over the area during the next hour. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Wise, Pound and Pardee.
