Special Weather Statement issued December 7 at 9:58PM EST by NWS Charleston WV Snow or mixed rain and snow could develop overnight. If it does, it will become all snow by daybreak Monday, and continue possibly into Monday afternoon. Minor snow accumulations of up to a half inch are possible. The mild weather Sunday and rain possibly mixed in at the start will cause snow to melt initially, which will then refreeze as temperatures fall below freezing in time for the Monday morning commute. This potential glaze of ice hidden beneath the snow could then make roads all the more slick. Also watch for reduced visibility in the snow. Those with travel plans Monday morning are encouraged to exercise caution and allow extra time to reach their destination. ![]() |
