At 719 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with frequent lightning 7 miles south of Blowing Rock, or 6 miles south of Blowing Rock In Caldwell County, moving east at 15 mph.
Locations to be impacted include...
Lenoir, Gamewell, Grandfather Mountain State Park, B.R.
Parkway-Linville Falls To Grandfather, Edgemont, Globe, Collettsville, Patterson, and Upton.
In addition to intense lightning, very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will be possible in these areas.
