At 301 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of training thunderstorms along a line extending from Leasburg to near Roanoke Rapids. Movement was north at 5 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph. Heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Additionally, locally heavy rain is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding.
Locations impacted include...
Roanoke Rapids, Henderson, Oxford, Roxboro, Warrenton, Halifax, Norlina, Littleton, Concord, and Weldon.
