Canceled 4/11/21 2:30 AM Special Weather Statement issued April 11 at 1:28AM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA At 125 AM EDT, radar indicated a line of showers with embedded thunderstorms from Madisonville to 11 miles west of Oxford. Movement was east at 30 to 35 mph. Wind gusts up to 40 mph and brief heavy downpours are possible with these showers. Locations impacted include... Farmville, South Hill, Blackstone, Chase City, Crewe, Victoria, Kenbridge, Brodnax, Hampden Sydney, Hampden Sydney College, Longwood University, Amelia Courthouse, Nottoway, Lunenburg, Clarksville, La Crosse, Burkeville, Boydton, Darlington Heights and Morven. Motorists should use extra caution in the vicinity of these storms. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather and road conditions. Heavy downpours could cause ponding of water on roads, and possible minor flooding of ditches and poor drainage areas. |
