Canceled 8/4/26 5:30 PM Special Weather Statement issued August 4 at 4:33PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC At 431 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of showers and thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall. The showers with the heaviest rain were located over High Point, moving west at at 20 mph. HAZARD...Very heavy rain in excess of 1 inch in 20 minutes and wind gusts to 30 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Lexington, Thomasville, Kernersville, Clemmons, Bermuda Run, Huntsville, and Lewisville. This includes the following highways... Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 92 and 104. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 182 and 213. Interstate 73 near Mile Marker 103. Interstate 74 between Mile Markers 56 and 70. ![]() |
