Flooding caused by excessive rainfall from showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and then again during the past two hours is expected.

* WHERE...
A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following county, Wise.

* WHEN...
Until 945 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 857 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to showers and thunderstorms before 800 PM EDT. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen earlier this afternoon in the same area and then another 0.5 inch or more fell 7 PM EDT.
- Only light rain was still falling over parts of the advisory area at this time. This additional rain may still result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that may still experience flooding include...
Wise, Pound and Pardee.
