Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

Portions of central, south central, and west central Virginia, including the following counties and independent cities, in central Virginia, Amherst, Appomattox, Campbell and City of Lynchburg. In south central Virginia, Bedford. In west central Virginia, Botetourt, City of Roanoke, City of Salem and Roanoke.

* WHEN...
Until 100 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 959 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Bear Creek, Bent Creek, Big Otter River, Bear Branch, Back Creek, Beckner Branch and Big Bear Rock Branch.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
