Very cold ambient air and wind chill temperatures in the single digits above zero.

* WHERE...
The Coastal Plain and of central North Carolina.

* WHEN...
Until 9 AM EST this morning.

* IMPACTS...
Frostbite can occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures for more than 30 minutes. Very cold temperatures can also cause hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
