Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...
A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the following counties, Catawba, Cleveland and Lincoln.

* WHEN...
Until 100 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 948 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Little Indian creek, Jacob Fork, Lick creek, Maple Creek, Catawba River, Howards Creek, Lippard Creek, Little Indian Creek, Hildebran Creek, Balls Creek, Cline Creek, Henry Fork and south fork creek.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Hickory, Newton, Lincolnton, St. Stephens, Conover, Maiden, Belwood, Boger City, Mountain View, Startown, Propst, Vale, Crouse, Cooksville and Bandys.
