At 23.0 feet, Water approaches Highway 501 between Route 58 and the Dan River.
At 25.0 feet, Highway 501 between Route 58 and the Dan River is closed as it is covered by up to 2 feet of water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:00 AM EST Thursday the stage was 20.2 feet and rising.
- Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 24.2 feet early Saturday morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Saturday evening.
- Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 24.3 feet on 12/31/2018.
