At 919 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles east of Hickory to 5 miles south of Newton to 10 miles west of Lincolnton. Movement was southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Newton, Lincolnton, Conover, Maiden, Claremont, Catawba, High Shoals, Boger City, Iron Station, and Denver.
