* WHAT...
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...
Portions of piedmont and western North Carolina, including the following counties, in piedmont North Carolina, Alexander. In western North Carolina, Caldwell.

* WHEN...
Until 1115 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 807 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lenoir and along Lower Creek in southwest Caldwell County.
Also, the Taylorsville area and toward the southeast portions of Alexander County. Bridges and low-lying areas along Elk Shoals Creek may flood.
