Heavy mixed winter precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 4 to 8 inches and ice accumulations up to one half an inch. Locally higher snow amounts north of I-64 west of Lexington. Locally higher ice amounts possible along the Blue Ridge. For Tazewell and Smyth counties, total snow and sleet accumulations between 3 and 5 inches and ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch are possible.

Portions of northwest North Carolina, southwest and west central Virginia, and southeast West Virginia.

* WHEN...
From 4 AM Tuesday to 4 PM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...
Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice.
Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.
