A portion of west central Virginia, including the following independent city, City of Roanoke. * WHEN... Until 500 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1256 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the southern portion of the City of Roanoke, with as much as 1 inch of rain having fallen since 12 pm. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area through 2 pm. - This includes the following streams and drainages...
