Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the following county, Mecklenburg.

* WHEN...
Until 215 PM EST.

* IMPACTS...
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1218 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
- McMullen Creek has risen above flood stage. Currently the river is likely producing 2-4 inches of floodwaters at its banks up and downstream of the Addison Dr culverts and flooding adjacent low-lying areas.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
South Charlotte, East Charlotte and Southpark Mall.
