Patchy dense fog has developed and will continue to spread across parts of the North Carolina mountains and foothills as well as the I-85 corridor in the South Carolina Upstate. Fog will remain in place through daybreak, and should break up slowly thereafter.
Visibility in the affected areas may decrease suddenly and over short distances. Motorists traveling in these areas should use extra caution. Slow down, increase following distance, and turn on your low-beam headlights.
