A line of snow showers was near the Virginia...West Virginia border...moving east. These snow showers are accompanied by falling temperatures and wind gusts of 40 miles an hour. Areas that will be impacted between now and midnight include the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia...Warm springs, Covington, Paint Bank, and into parts of the New River Valley, Pearisburg, Blacksburg, Radford, Pulaski and Bland. A coating of snow is likely with this initial round of snow showers, temperatures falling to near freezing. Additional snow showers and flurries are expected for the Greenbrier Valley and western slopes of the Appalachians from just west of Lewisburg down through Bluefield and Tazewell.
