At 306 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles northwest of Statesville, or 4 miles east of Stony Point, moving south at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Statesville, Newton, Conover, Troutman, Stony Point, Claremont, Catawba, Lake Norman State Park, Lookout Shoals Lake, and St.
Stephens.
