Flooding caused by repeated rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall is expected.

Portions of North Carolina, including the following counties, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Surry and Wilkes and southwest Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, Carroll, City of Galax, Floyd, Grayson and Patrick.

* WHEN...
Until midnight EDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 607 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated moderate heavy rain.
Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen since early this morning. Showers, heavy at times, will persist off and on into this evening.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Archies Creek, Beaver Creek, Bear Branch, Beaverdam Creek, Ararat River and Basin Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
