Canceled 5/24/22 4:24 AM Flood Advisory issued May 24 at 1:37AM EDT until May 24 at 4:30AM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA * WHAT... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE... A portion of west central Virginia, including the following county and independent cities, City of Roanoke, City of Salem and Roanoke. * WHEN... Until 430 AM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 137 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Carvin Creek, Buffalo Creek, Back Creek and Big Bear Rock Branch. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Roanoke... Salem... Vinton... Cave Spring... Hollins... Roanoke Mountain...
