Canceled 7/9/25 11:24 PM Flood Advisory issued July 9 at 8:46PM EDT until July 10 at 12:45AM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA * WHAT... Minor flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE... Portions of north central and northwest North Carolina, including the following counties, in north central North Carolina, Surry. In northwest North Carolina, Alleghany NC and Wilkes. * WHEN... Until 1245 AM EDT. * IMPACTS... Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 839 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that light to occasionally moderate rainfall is occurring across the advisory area. However, runoff from between 2.5 and 4 inches of rain that fell this afternoon continues to collect within area creeks and streams, holding them at or above bankful levels. Minor flooding will continue for the next few hours. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Big Pine Creek, Camp Creek, Cane Creek, Camp Branch, Big Bugaboo Creek, Big Sandy Creek, Christian Creek, Chestnut Creek, Brush Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Basin Creek and Bee Tree Branch. Additional rainfall amounts of locally up to 1 inch are possible over the area. This additional rain will support continued minor flooding of creeks and streams. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... North Wilkesboro... Elkin... Fairview... Jonesville...
