Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...
Portions of central, south central, and west central Virginia, including the following counties, in central Virginia, Amherst. In south central Virginia, Bedford. In west central Virginia, Rockbridge.

* WHEN...
Until 600 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 421 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Irish Creek, Browns Creek, Brown Mountain Creek, Indian Gap Run, Elk Creek, James River, Davis Mill Creek, Buffalo River and Davidson Run.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
