Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...
Portions of south central Virginia, southwest Virginia and west central Virginia, including the following counties and independent cities, in south central Virginia, Bedford. In southwest Virginia, Floyd and Montgomery. In west central Virginia, Botetourt, City of Roanoke, City of Salem, Franklin and Roanoke.

* WHEN...
Until 1115 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 804 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Beaverdam Creek, Back Creek and Beckner Branch.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
