At 912 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Walnut Hill, or near Bristol Tn, moving northeast at 30 mph. At 906 PM EDT, the ASOS at Tri-Cities Regional Airport recorded a 54 mph wind gust.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Observed by Tri-Cities ASOS.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Kingsport, Bristol Tn, Bristol Va, Abingdon, Walnut Hill, Bluff City, Holston, Hilander Park, Benhams, and Blountville.
