Freezing rain. Ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch. Locations across southern Mitchell and Yancey Counties, as well as the higher elevations of McDowell and Caldwell Counties could see around one quarter inch.

Portions of Piedmont and western North Carolina.

Until 7 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...
Icing may create slippery conditions on some roads, bridges and sidewalks. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening commutes.

The weight of the ice could lead to scattered power outages across southern Mitchell and Yancey Counties, as well as the higher elevations of McDowell and Caldwell Counties.
