At 1033 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with torrential rainfall 11 miles southeast of Morganton, or 6 miles east of South Mountains State Park, moving northeast at 20 mph.
Locations to be impacted include...
Hickory, Longview, Icard, Hildebran, Connelly Springs, Hickory Regional Airport, South Mountains State Park, Mountain View, Rhodhiss, and Rutherford College.
Torrential rainfall rates up to 3 inches per hour will be possible in these areas.
