Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

A portion of west central Virginia, including the following county and independent city, City of Roanoke and Roanoke.

* WHEN...
Until 130 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1029 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Coyner Branch, Back Creek, Carvin Creek, Mason Creek, Gum Spring Branch, Murray Run, Buffalo Creek, Cook Creek and Roanoke River.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
