Special Weather Statement issued November 17 at 2:49PM EST by NWS Morristown TN The combination of gusty winds and low afternoon relative humidities will lead to an elevated fire risk on Tuesday. Sustained south-southwest winds from 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph are expected during the afternoon hours. Relative humidities will range from the upper 20s to mid 30s. These conditions could allow for fires to become uncontrolled. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn on Tuesday. Use extreme caution when burning as fires may get out of hand quickly in these conditions. ![]() |
