Temperatures are gradually warming above critically cold thresholds.
Readings remain in the teens over much of central North Carolina, so people are advised to continue to use added caution through this morning. Wear appropriate clothing, including a hat and gloves. Make sure pets are kept indoors as much as possible. Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water.
