Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE... Southwestern Surry County in northwestern North Carolina... Southeastern Wilkes County in northwestern North Carolina... Northwestern Yadkin County in northwestern North Carolina... * WHEN... Until 1115 AM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 817 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... East Prong Roaring River, Cub Creek, Caddle Creek, Cooks Creek, Cobb Creek, Davenport Creek, Bull Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Cody Creek, Beaver Creek, Big Bugaboo Creek, Ararat River and Camp Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
